Vandals smashed another pro-life maternity center last weekend, breaking windows and writing graffiti on the Hope Pregnancy Center in Philadelphia.
The Catholic News Agency reported on the crime for the first time on Wednesday — the latest in a growing series of vandalism, arson, threats, and other incidents targeting pro-life advocates since news broke in May of a leaked draft ruling that accused the US Supreme Court Roe v. Waad this summer.
Latrice Booker, director of Hope Pregnancy Center, told CNA she discovered the vandalism Saturday and contacted the police.
Booker said four windows and three glass doors were broken, and one had indistinguishable graffiti written on it. She told CNA they would not be intimidated by the vandalism and encouraged pro-lifers to “stand firm” amid the growing hostility.
Despite the damage, she said they had kept their doors open to continue serving needy families. Hope Pregnancy Center offers free counseling, education, and material support to help mothers choose life for their babies.

An online blog post on the website phlanticap.noblogs.org dated June 12 contains a message from someone claiming responsibility for the vandalism under the name “Anti Hope Brigade”.
“We have all the windows of the ‘Hope’ maternity center in Broad St. We are tired of your ‘family values’ and forcing families and your values on our bodies. This fake clinic was spreading lies and part of a wider effort to take away body autonomy from hundreds of women and people,” the post said.
The post also says the vandalism was inspired by the “actions of comrades in Wisconsin, Colorado, New York, and a growing list of places.”
Five pro-life offices have been the target of arson since May, and dozens of pro-life organizations and churches have been vandalized. Last week, a killer with a gun was arrested outside the home of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh after the man said he planned to kill the judge, police said.
Kavanaugh is expected to be one of the judges agreeing to overthrow Roe, but the court has not yet ruled on the abortion case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health.
Meanwhile, several pro-abortion groups have called for churches to be targeted by abortion activists’ outcry. A group also publicly posted the addresses of Supreme Court justices’ homes and a photo of the school of Kavanaugh’s daughters.
Rachel O’Leary Carmona, executive director of Women’s March, warned that abortion activists would be “ungovernable” until the government legalizes abortion on demand.
