Federal law enforcement officials recently advised churches to increase security after learning that a radical pro-abortion extremist group is planning a “Night of Rage” once the U.S. Supreme Court makes its abortion ruling this summer.
The warning from the United States Department of Homeland Security, first reported on Newsweek, appeared in an urgent memo from the Catholic Diocese of Stockton, California, to clergy and staff.
According to the memo from the diocese, department agent Jesse Rangel said an “extremist group” is “calling for extreme violence” against churches and pro-life organizations starting at 8 p.m. the night the Supreme Court makes its ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health.
Many expect the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade through the Mississippi abortion case and allow states to once again protect unborn babies from abortion. In May, Politico published a leaked draft ruling showing the Supreme Court overturned Roe.

The memo likely refers to threats from the pro-abortion extremist group Jane’s Revenge, though the group is not mentioned by name, according to Newsweek. On its website and on posters seen in Washington, DC, the pro-abortion group is calling for a “Night of Rage” once the Supreme Court issues its ruling on the Dobbs case.
“To our oppressors: If abortion isn’t safe, neither are you,” read a flyer, according to CBN News.
The name Jane’s Revenge has surfaced since the leak over vandalism at maternity centers and churches in several states, and the group reportedly took credit for bombing a pro-life organization in Wisconsin in May.
According to Newsweek, Rangel told the diocese in the urgent memo that “large groups of cells have already been discovered across the country ‘enveloping’ parishes, including here in California.”
The diocese shared the information with its clergy and staff, urging them to monitor for suspicious activity and “develop a plan” to address it, the report said.
Since the Supreme Court leak, pro-life organizations and churches have been the target of arson, vandalism and threats almost daily. LifeNews is monitoring the growing hostility, listing more than 60 incidents since early May.
Pro-life organizations have increased security in recent weeks as the attacks continue. Annabelle Rutledge of Concerned Women for America told CBN News they hired armed guards after their office was vandalized.
“There is some agitation that is increasing and people are getting more and more agitated as we know statistically that this day is getting closer and closer as we get closer to the end of June,” Rutledge said.
According to Axios, a Department of Homeland Security report in May warned that radical abortion activists are threatening to set fire to or storm the Supreme Court building and kill judges and their clerks if the court overthrows Roe. The report indicates that these pro-abortion extremists also plan to attack churches and other places of worship.
Many have accused the Biden administration and Democratic leaders of not doing enough to stop the proliferation of domestic terrorism.
“This is the most coordinated and aggressive domestic terrorism in our nation today,” Live Action president and founder Lila Rose wrote on Twitter on Thursday. “All because extremists are angry that they are not allowed to kill children in the womb, on demand, with no limits. Yet there is virtual silence from @JoeBiden, @SpeakerPelosi & most media groups. Why?”
State and federal Republican leaders have sent letters to US Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding his office crack down on extremist groups such as Jane’s Revenge.
While Garland and the Biden administration have condemned the violence, they have not condemned the doxxing of Supreme Court justices or the protests outside their homes. Federal law prohibits protests outside the homes of judges, witnesses, jurors and court officials; such actions are considered harassment and interference with the justice system.
Earlier this month, an alleged hitman with a gun was arrested outside Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s home after the man said he planned to kill the judge, police said. The leaked draft showed Kavanaugh as one of the judges agreeing to overthrow Roe.
The FBI announced an investigation into pro-abortion violence last week.
The Supreme Court is expected to issue its final ruling on the Dobbs case every day.
