MSNBC Wants Democrats To Pack Supreme Court After It Overthrows Roe

There has been a lot of commotion in the liberal media about people being trapped in their own ‘information silos’. On that note, MSNBC’s few viewers on Sunday’s Mehdi Hassan Show were deeply immersed in the soybean-rich progressive “information silo.” At the same time, Hasan and his congressman Mondaire Jones (D-NY) worried about why so few Democrats advocated “rebalancing.” the Supreme Court as an interim strategy, considering how one case could lead to the downing of Roe v. Wade.

Ever since Jones introduced a bill to expand the Supreme Court, Hasan asked why other prominent Democrats haven’t vociferously supported such a radical move: “You probably have this current Supreme Court about to overthrow Roe. New York’s gun to overthrow also has control rights. So why is there seemingly no support from the Democrats … To expand the Court, rebalance it, as you suggested?’

Jones replied:

Mehdi, when I talk to my colleagues behind the scenes, they say they think it’s a great idea to add seats to the Supreme Court. But what usually happens is that they don’t feel like now is the right time to push through those policies for one or more reasons. But we know that the only way to ensure that the crises that have been created and ended by this far-right 6-3 majority, er – is by rebalancing the Court.

We must thank Jones for this information because he admitted that only political expediency would keep Democrats from attempting a legislative takeover of the judiciary.

Hasan then asked Jones if the Democrats could politically avoid Armageddon during the midterm elections “with strong, blunt messages about preserving abortion rights, gun reforms and calling out Republicans?”

Jones agreed that Democrats could keep the House if they pass “commonly popular legislation” such as an “assault weapons ban,” which imposes a cut in food and gas prices, packs the Supreme Court, and most importantly, “ensures that that the American people know that the Democrats are fighting tooth and nail for the things we say we believe in, instead of trying to negotiate with people on the other side.”

How much of an echo chamber do you have to be to seriously think that packing the courts, banning “assault weapons,” and refusing to reach down the aisle is “generally popular” or anything but political suicide?

Hasan concluded the interview by asking Jones: “What do you think of the decision by the Biden DOJ and Attorney General Merrick Garland this week, which we learned about, that he has no intention of Mark Meadows or Dan Scavino – former Trump officials – to sue” for contempt of Congress?”

Jones responded with a standard commentary about how “no one is above the law” and that “we might see something like what happened on January 6 again if we don’t get to the bottom of it and hold everyone accountable.”

Neither Jones nor Hasan had heard of executive privilege or the DOJ refusing to sue former Obama Attorney General Eric Holder for the same when he refused to hand over documents related to Operation: Fast and Furious.

There’s bias, then delusion, and Hasan and his radical progressive sort at MSNBC are firmly in the latter camp.
