Democrats want Google to censor pro-life maternity centers

The Center for Countering Digital Hate, which Media Research Center previously classified as one of the “Toxic Ten” of alleged climate misinformation, is now trying to pressure Google to suppress pro-life websites.

The UK and US-based Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) focuses on alternatives to abortion by calling search results for pro-life crisis pregnancy centers “anti-abortion fake clinics.”

Twenty-one lawmakers recently sent a letter to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, urging him to suppress pro-life search results based on the CCDH report. Of the 445 results recorded, 51 results “led users to fake anti-abortion clinics, also known as ‘crisis pregnancy centers’ (CPCs) or ‘pregnancy centers’.” the CCDH report claimed that 11.46 percent of the results for the “abortion clinic near me” and “abortion pill” questions in “the 13 so-called Trigger Law states” were actually pregnancy centers.

But “crisis maternity centers” aren’t “fake clinics” — they’re resource centers for pregnant women and new mothers. CCDH classifies reproductive care and solutions that don’t kill babies as ‘online hate and misinformation’.

The report drew a parallel between not providing abortion services or referrals and not providing “medical care.” CCDH noted that there are more crisis maternity centers than abortion clinics in the US 3-to-1. The report accused the CPCs who “advise pregnant people against having an abortion” of “spreading wrong medical advice and misinformation.”

CCDH is led by socialist CCDH founder and CEO Imran Ahmed, who co-authored a book titled “The New Serfdom: The Triumph of Conservative Ideas and How to Defeat Them.”

“When people search for information or services related to their sexual and reproductive health, Google sends them to sites that users might expect to contain robust, scientific, evidence-based information about healthcare, but contain ideologically driven opinions. And misinformation,” Ahmed claimed in the CCDH report on pro-life content online. Ahmed added that lawmakers should “step in” and help promote pro-abortion content over pro-life content.

The CCDH group promotes left-wing eco-extremism and even has ties to communist China. The CCDH is funded by a left-wing eco-group, the Oak Foundation, which supported a “greening” plan for communist China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

CCDH’s 2021 report “THE TOXIC TEN: How ten fringe publishers are fueling 69% of digital climate change denial” urged Big Tech to censor nine conservative organizations, including the Media Research Center, Townhall Media, The Daily Wire, and Breitbart News. MRC founder and president L. Brent Bozell tweeted: “Digital brownshirts are attacking conservative organizations for daring to have an honest debate on climate policy.”

Conservatives are under attack. Reach out to your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held accountable to reflect the First Amendment and equate conservatives. If you have been censored, please get in touch with us via the CensorTrack contact form and help us hold Big Tech accountable.
