Democrats demand that Joe Biden issue executive orders to promote the killing of babies in abortions

A group of US Senate Democrats on Tuesday asked President Joe Biden to “immediately” issue an executive order to expand and promote the killing of unborn babies in abortions through the federal government.

The letter, first reported by NBC News, urges the president to create taxpayer-funded vouchers for abortion-related expenses and a new health department function dedicated solely to promoting abortion.

US Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Patty Murray of Washington led the effort, along with more than 20 other Democratic senators.

They expressed concern that the US Supreme Court may soon overturn Roe v. Wade and allow states to protect unborn babies from abortion again. Estimates vary, but researchers predict up to 26 states would ban abortions without Roe.

“Americans across the country and at every level of government must stand up to this unprecedented attack on women and their right to make decisions about their bodies and lives,” the lawmakers wrote. “But as President of the United States, you have the unique power to pool the resources of the entire federal government to respond.”

They outlined six actions they want Biden to take “immediately,” including increasing access to abortion drugs and using taxpayers’ money to promote abortion actively.

Other ideas include providing taxpayer-funded vouchers and other resources for women traveling across state lines for abortions and creating a new “reproductive health ombudsman” at the Department of Health and Human Services to educate the public. “educate” and analyze data on abortion.

They also want Biden to direct federal agencies to investigate ways to use “federal property and resources” for abortions. Other recommendations include moving military members to states where abortion will remain legal after Roe and giving all federal employees paid time off and allowances for abortion travel and living expenses.

Warren and Murray described killing unborn babies through abortion as a “fundamental” right. They urged Biden to act quickly over the pending Supreme Court ruling, expected later this month.

“Americans across the country are at risk of losing their fundamental rights, including their constitutional right to abortion, which has been protected for generations,” they wrote. “They deserve no less than a response from the entire government.”

Biden has taken numerous actions to increase abortion rates during his first year and a half in office. Perhaps the worst yet, he began allowing dangerous abortion drugs to be sold through the mail without direct medical supervision — endangering the lives of both mothers and unborn babies.

In May, Biden released a statement claiming abortion is a “fundamental” right after news broke of a leaked Supreme Court bill that would see the majority overthrow Roe,

“I believe a woman’s right to choose is fundamental. Roe has been the law of the land for nearly fifty years, and fundamental fairness and the stability of our law require that it not be destroyed,” he said.

Since then, he and Vice President Kamala Harris have honored abortionists and abortion activists in the White House and held meetings to discuss ways to expand abortions if the Supreme Court allows states to ban them.

The Biden administration’s pro-abortion goals do not represent the beliefs of most Americans. Polls consistently show that most Americans support strong legal protections for unborn babies — more than Roe allows. A new poll by Rasmussen shows that more Americans want Roe v. Wade quashed (48 percent) than the ruling remains in effect (45 percent). LifeNews has featured 11 recent polls here.

Since Roe v. Wade, about 63 million unborn babies and hundreds of mothers have died in supposedly “safe, legal” abortions. The 1973 ruling forces state to legalize the killing of unborn babies in abortions until they are viable and allow states to legalize abortions up to birth.

The Supreme Court is expected to rule this summer, likely by the end of June, in the Mississippi abortion case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health.
